We are planning a overnight trip to Nacogdoches. The Motel that we are staying at is Best Western Inn 3428 South St. Nacogdoches Tx. 75964. Phone # (936) 560-4900. You need to call and set up your room to make sure you get one. This ride will depend on he weather so keep and eye on the site. We will give out more details when we decide routes and other details. KSU at 8:00am.

@Brian Loveless: these files are gpx files. So you can download them to a gps device.

@Carlos Lopez: the files are gbd and are map source files. Not all gps devices can open them, most gps use gpx. If anyone has a jpg of the route that would help with the people that don’t have a gps to pull it up on. :)

I went to the Garmin website and bought a refurbished Zumo 590 LM. I think new one is the 595 LM is the one to get. It cost a lot less refurbished. Same warranty. The only difference is the box.

I worked the route some more. It did not seem to do right on my base camp. It had some over and backs and also the start was taking me north onto 66 so I compared to Lyles map and added a few more shaping points to correct that and also extended it to the hotel. Should I post it?

@Hugh Jones: I dont remember if I read it somewhere or heard it on a video but it was said that if you are planning to share your route with others, you need to have enough shaping points so that other devices can read it correctly. All routes are just a list of shaping points and the different software interprets the best route from point to point depending on the settings.

Once I am happy with a route, I will go back and add shaping points at every turn and also mark all shaping points to not alert me on arrival. I only want to be alerted at important waypoints. Also I will set the start time on the first one. the rest of the route will recalculate. Or you can set the arrival time at the end or lunch stop.

I just looked at how much time is required for cancellation on my hotel room. The email says this:

This to confirm your reservation for the above listed dates is now confirmed. Your room will be held for
your arrival and will be charged one nights room and tax if you fail to arrive. If you would like to cancel
without a charge, you must do so by 4:00 pm on the date of arrival.
