BC Peaks & Trails (BCPT)

We hike everywhere from mountains to lakes and anywhere else we can think of. We go backpacking, biking, and climbing; ski and snowshoe, kayak, canoeing and swimming, and in many other ways celebrate nature and the great outdoors. While exploring the great outdoors is thrilling and restorative, we care about our delicate environments and promote Leave-No-Trace principles and good trail etiquette.

To better protect ourselves from injuries and other life-threatening conditions, all members should take safety and preparedness seriously, carry the Ten Essentials, and be self reliant.

Details The Dolomite Circuit (Canadian Rockies) Another week in the Canadian Rockies featuring a 6 day backpack of Banff's more remote backcountry. Also a fantastic buckit list day hike. This is my annual visit to the Canadian Rockies so keeping with the tradition and let's go again. This one being a tad off the beaton track as compared to some of the previous well known trails such as Berg Lake, Rockwall and Brazeau Loop plus the Sawback Circuit all of which were stunning in there own ways. We will spend three days on this Vancouver Island bikepacking trip through the Saanich Peninsula along the Lochside Regional Trail to Victoria where we switch to the Galloping Goose Trail and head westward through Colwood, Metchosin and Sooke to our campsite for 2-nights at the Sooke Potholes. On Day 2, we will do a hike or two around the Potholes area and then, on Day 3, cycle back the way we came to the Swartz Bay Ferry Terminal. On days 1 and 3 we will stop along the way for lunch.The total cycling distance on days 1 and 3 will be around 85 km each day.
