Many ask where our blankets and winter wear items get donated to.  

Due to my move and Covid restrictions (and multiple other reasons), a lot of our past receiving charities aren't accepting our donations.

Kelly continues to work with The Shoebox Project collecting winter wearables.

This year, I have connected with a charity called Durham Alliance Outreach (DAO) and they will be getting their first delivery of blankets later this week.

I appreciate that many of you may want your crafted items donated closer to home, but unfortuneately I am not down that way anymore to work receiving charities.   Plus, many of the receiving charities have become demanding with wanting certain products crafted in certain colours and sizes and many don't want homemade products anymore, they want brand new, off-the-shelf purchased items - it's very disheartening.

DAO works with many less fortunate and are excited to receive their first delivery from our group.

Talking to charities has become very time consuming - trying to learn their purpose, who they donate to, what they stand for, etc (as I do want our hard work appreciated).
