For our August astronomy meeting, we will get together to view the Perseid meteor shower next week on Friday, August 13 at Lone Pine State Park. We will be in the visitor center parking lot, and you can come between 9:30 and 10:00 to get set up. You’ll want to bring picnic blankets, sleeping bags, and/or fully reclining chairs, along with something to keep you warm if you’d like.
This is the best meteor shower of the year, and we will not have excessive moonlight this time around. If you’re not able to join us, you can watch it wherever you are, though darker skies are always helpful. The meteor shower peaks August 11-13, so most …
