Join us for a relaxed stroll of about 3.5 miles around the pleasant market town of Petersifield.
The town dates from the 12th century and grew as a coach stop on the Portsmouth to London road, now the A3. It is wholly within the South Downs National Park and is a base for exploring the area.
Starting from the station we will walk via footpaths towards Churcher's College, one of a number of well-known private schools in the area, and from there circle round towards Petersfield Heath just south-east of the town centre. The heath contains burial mounds which may be up to 4000 years old and are considered to be one of the more important …
